Biography

Yisong Huang is a distinguished young teacher at Quanzhou Normal University, holding a Master’s degree in Classical Piano Performance. He is a member of the Fujian Piano Association and the Quanzhou Piano Art Professional Committee. His musical journey began at the age of four under the guidance of his mother, followed by studies with esteemed teachers such as Huang Xuesheng, Li Huili, Zhao Tianying, Tang Zhe, and Jeffrey Cohen.

In 2022, he graduated from the Manhattan School of Music with a Master’s degree in Classical Piano Performance.In 2016, Huang was accepted into several prestigious U.S. music institutions, including the Manhattan School of Music, New England Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, and Michigan State University College of Music. He chose to attend the Manhattan School of Music on a full scholarship, studying under Professor Jeffrey Cohen. He continued his Master’s studies with Professor Cohen at the same institution, successfully completing his degree in 2022.Huang has consistently excelled in domestic and international piano competitions, earning numerous accolades. He has performed in multiple solo recitals both in China and abroad and has actively participated in various public welfare performances.

In 2020, he was awarded the Senior Piano Professional Teaching Talent Certificate by the Talent Center of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism.His international presence extends to renowned piano festivals, including the New York International Keyboard Festival, the MusicAlp International Music Festival in France, and the Italian Coast Music Festival. At these events, he received guidance and praise from celebrated pianists such as Catherine Brown, Haring, Barry Snyder, and Massimiliano Ferrati.In 2024, Huang achieved further recognition by winning first place in the Fujian division of the "Little Golden Bell - Yangtze River Piano National Exhibition" in the university young teachers’ group. Through his talent, dedication, and contributions to music education and performance, Huang Yisong continues to inspire as a prominent figure in the world of classical piano.
