Biography

Jing Li graduated from the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music. She serves as a council member of the Piano Professional Art Committee of the Fujian Musicians Association, a council member of the Fujian Piano Association, and an executive council member of the Siming District Branch of the Xiamen Musicians Association. She is currently a principal piano faculty member at the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music, and previously studied piano at the pre-college divisions of the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Central Conservatory of Music.

She won the Piano Gold Award at the “12th Asia Piano Open Competition” and the “1st Vocal, Instrumental and Dance Competition” organized by the Ministry of Culture. When Zhou Ji, then Minister of Education, visited the Piano Department of the Central Conservatory of Music, she performed for him.

After the Gulangyu Piano School of the Central Conservatory of Music was established, she joined as one of the first piano teachers and also served as head of the school office from 2011 to 2014.

She has been invited to serve as a judge for many national and international piano competitions, including the “Pearl River · Kaiserburg” International Youth Piano Competition, the “American Music Open Competition,” the “Boya Piano Art Festival,” the “Oumile” International Piano Open Competition, the “Golden Frog” International Piano Competition, the “Steinberg Cup” National Youth Piano Competition, China Merchants Bank’s “Golden Sunflower Cup” National Piano Competition, the “Chopin International Youth and Children’s Piano Competition,” the “Liszt International Youth Piano Competition,” the “Kawai” Youth Piano Competition, and the “Yamaha Cup” National Youth Piano Competition.

Her students have won prizes in domestic and international competitions such as the Switzerland “Val de Travers” International Piano Competition, the “CCTV Piano and Violin Competition,” Portugal’s “Santa Cecilia” International Piano Competition, Poland’s “Juliusz Zarębski” International Music Competition, the Czech “Smetana International Piano Competition,” the Saint Petersburg, Russia “A Step Towards Mastery” International Youth Competition, the UK “Best Chopin Performance” International Music Competition, and the Fujian Provincial Secondary Vocational Skills Competition.

Many of her students have been admitted to leading conservatories in China and abroad, including the Central Conservatory of Music, the Shanghai Conservatory of Music, the Curtis Institute of Music (USA), the Zhejiang Conservatory of Music, the Wuhan Conservatory of Music, and the Harbin Conservatory of Music.
