D·Festival is honored to have Quartet Daedalus (QD) as the specially featured chamber group during D·Festival. All One-week Program participants can rehearse and perform the 1st movement of the designated piano concerto alongside the QD.

Meet Quartet Daedalus MEmbers

Zichuan (Kevin) Wang
Zichuan (Kevin) Wang is a violinist pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts in Violin Performance at The University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music. Born in Wuhan in 1998, he began violin at four under Mingjian Liu, later serving as assistant concertmaster of the Wuhan Chamber Orchestra. He earned both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Cleveland Institute of Music, studying with Ivan Ženatý, William Preucil, and Stephen Rose. In 2023, he began studies with Brian Lewis at UT Austin. Competition honors include prizes at CCTV Young Artists, Huangshan Festival, and the New York Summer Music Festival.

Yusong Zhao
Yusong Zhao is a violinist pursuing his Doctor of Musical Arts at the University of Texas at Austin’s Butler School of Music on full scholarship. He previously earned his Bachelor’s degree from the Hartt School and a Master’s from the Cleveland Institute of Music. Beginning violin at age four with Liu Mingjian, he later studied with Brian Lewis, Katie Lansdale, and Stephen Rose. Zhao has appeared with NYO-China on its 2018 European tour, served as concertmaster at the 2023 Pacific Music Festival, and won concerto and chamber competitions, including the 2024 Butler School Concerto Competition.
Kelvin Chan
The ensemble's anchor, bringing depth and resonance to every program. A prize winner at multiple competitions, she has recorded extensively for European radio and concert series.
Cello
A virtuoso with a rich, singing tone that grounds the ensemble's sound. He has performed as soloist and chamber musician throughout Europe and Asia, bringing maturity and vision to every collaboration.
